Grenada Lake National Qualifier Belongs to Alex Hall and Cassidy Box

Stop number three of the Crappie Masters National Qualifier was at beautiful Grenada Lake in Grenada, MS hosted by the Grenada Mississippi Tourism Commission. Grenada Lake is known for giant fish and it did not disappoint!

Start time on day one was delayed due to weather conditions. Anglers faced 10 mph southwest winds and rain for most of the day, but that did not stop these fantastic anglers from showing the amazing fishery of Grenada, Mississippi!

Day one weigh in was truly exciting weighing over 15 crappie over three pounds at Grenada Landing. The citizens of Grenada truly showed out to cheer on and see these incredible anglers do some amazing things. Team Alex Hall and Cassidy Box lead the tournament after day one with a bag of 13.84lbs. They also brought across the stage the biggest fish of the day weighing 3.45lbs.

Following not far behind in second place is team Chase Petty and Kevin Wyle with 13.40lbs. Also bringing to the scale a big fish over three pounds.

Finishing up the top five, just a few hundredths of an ounce in third place was team Davy Ross and Don Ross with a weight of 13.37lbs, Charlie Bunting and Brandon Fulgham with 13.09 lbs and Mathew and Bruce Rogers with 12.72lbs.

Championship Saturday is always full of surprises, especially on a fishery like Grenada Lake. Mother Nature decided to switch it up on the anglers and create a north wind and much cooler weather. Some anglers had to change their game plans and did things very differently just from the day before. Team Alex Hall and Cassidy Box were able to stay in first and clinch the title of Crappie Masters 2024 Grenada Lake National Qualifier Champions with a total weight of 27.37lbs. Along with winning overall big fish of the event with their giant 3.45lbs day one kicker, earning them a grand total of $8,000.00.

Jumping all the way from 9th place on day number one, team Dustin McDaniel and Josh Boulware earned the second place spot with a total weight of 26.57lbs and earning $3,500.00.

Team Chase Petty and Kevin Wylie take home the third place spot with a total weight of 25.87lbs and taking home a check for $2,500.00.

Crappie Masters Tournament Director Blake Jackson would like to thank Grenada Tourism Commission for once again hosting this event in 2024. Also big thank you to Crappie Forever for handling fish care and returning the fish into Grenada Lake to be caught again!
