Carlile Claims Victory At Dardanelle

On a hot June weekend in Russellville, Arkansas at Lake Dardanelle. Robert Carlile made his way to the top of the charts at the Crappie Masters sponsored by the Renewable Fuels Association, American Ethanol, and Bass Pro Shops National Qualifier June 12 and 13 with a two-day weight of 22.48 pounds winning the tournament the second year in a row and taking home $10,600.00, overtaking the team of Greg London and Lamar Bunting.

Carlile sponsored by The Bass Tank, Huckabee Rods, Grenada Lake Tackle, MCM Tackle, Ranger Boats, Mercury Marine, Power Pole and Nichols Marine in Tulsa single poled using LiveScope catching the bulk of his fish in anywhere from 2 to 15 feet of water with his best bite in the 10 foot range. He expressed his key to the win was time on the water and graphing fish in key locations.

The team of Greg London and Lamar Bunting nearly got the win with a two-day weight of 21.92 pounds and collecting a check of $2,750 dollars.  The day one leaders sponsored by B’n’M Poles, ProBuilt Jigs, Crappie Magnet, Bait Field and Stream, and MCM Tackle single poled 1/32 ounce hair jigs using 7.6 foot B’n’M Crappie Wizard Rods casting to their fish in 6 to 10 foot of water with their weigh fish close to the bottom. The team said the key to the runner up finish was keeping on the move running in a circle over the two days using 56 gallons of E10 fuel.

Finishing in third place was The Bass Tank, Express Boats, Big Bite Baits, Sunline, Daiwa Reels, and Huckabee Rods team of John Soukup and Zeke Anderson who weighed in 21.20 pounds of fish good for $2,000.00 plus an additional $150.00 sharing the second big fish of the tournament pot with Robert Robinson and Dillon Hackler with each weighing 2.01 pounders. The team single poled and down sized to lightweight jigs in 7 to 12 feet of water crediting graphing stake beds and lay downs to find their tournament fish.

Coming up in fourth place was the team of Chris Chandler and Kyle Dines who weighed in 20.90 pounds and walked away with a check worth $1,500.00.

Rounding out the top five was Jeff Larch and Darren Burfield with a two-day weight of 20.87 pounds taking home $1,250.00.

Big fish and $700.00 went to the seventh place team of Donald and Don McClish with a 2.23 pound Dardenelle dandy.

Top Adult/Youth honors went to the team of TJ and Alex Palmer winning a Minn Kota Trolling Motor and $100.00 Everhart’s Outdoor Store Gift Card.

Jay and Mary Johnson claimed top Male/Female award. They received a Humminbird Helix 5.
