During our 2024 National Championship week the awards list becomes endless with all of the awards that are presented from our Championship Tournament awards and all of our Angler Team of the Year Awards.
But there is one award that Crappie Masters Presents during the National Championship welcoming ceremony that is the “Crappie Masters Sportsman of the Year Award”. This award is presented annually to a team or specific individual who displays great sportsmanship throughout the entire season from start to finish. Crappie Masters Tournament Director Blake Jackson evaluates all of the participants that have competed in the 2024 events. Blake and the entire team evaluate things from on the water behavior, positivity surrounding the event weekends and positivity on social media. These include high standards in regard to sponsor relations, competing anglers and the crappie industry as a whole.
Matt Tuttle and Randy Bussart from Ohio have always been a fan favorite team from many anglers and viewers but what many don’t see that Tournament Director Blake Jackson does is their actions behind the scenes when no one is watching. Fishing is a challenging sport that is full of highs and lows from a great day one to boat problems on day two which great many opportunities to lose that sportsmanlike behavior.
