Team Allen takes the Top Spot on Lake Talquin

Crappie Masters started out their season in the beautiful state of Florida this year hosted by Gadsden County TDC with the kickoff event being held on Lake Talquin in Gadsden County Florida.

Many teams headed south from all over the country in hopes of finding warmer weather, but this was unfortunately not the case this year. The cold temperatures changed many anglers’ game plans and they had to make some tough decisions while fishing.

Day one of weigh in was full of excitement to get back on the stage and weigh in some incredible Florida black crappie. Team Ryan Duley and Brad Botsch lead the pack on day one with a great weight of 12.35lbs.

Following closely behind in second place was team Nick Dowda and Justin Steen with a great five fish limit weighing in at 12.05lbs.

Rounding out the top 5 places was team Cory Singletary and Silas in third place with 11.92lbs, in fourth place was team Jim Allen and Doug Allen with 11.84lbs and in fifth place was Cliff Bammes with 11.58lbs.

Championship Saturday is always filled with excitement but also many nerves. The race to be named the 2025 Crappie Masters Lake Talquin Champions was on the line. Team Jim Allen and Doug Allen were able to make jump from fourth place to taking that number one spot with a total weight of 23.97lbs. This great win gave them the title of 2025 Crappie Masters Lake Talquin Champions and a check worth $7,500.

Team Nick Dowda and Justin Steen hold on to that second-place spot with a phenomenal total weight of 23.81 lbs. Their great work earned them a check worth $3,500.

Kevin and Mary Hawkins made an incredible jump from 16th place on day one to taking the third place spot on day two with a total weight of 23.08 lbs. They also took home the title of top male/female team making their total earnings $2,700.Take a look below for the full results from stop number one on Lake Talquin.
