Can Jeffries Continue Domination at D’Arbonne?

The Crappie Masters All American Tournament Trail will be in beautiful Farmerville, Louisiana this weekend for the second National Qualifier event of the 2023 season on Lake D’Arbonne.

This lake always produces some great fishing action and big fish weights, so it’s sure to be a great battle between some of the best crappie anglers in the country on Friday and Saturday (February 24th and 25th).

Crappie Masters History at Lake D’Arbonne

Last year, the Crappie Masters National Qualifier on Lake D’Arbonne was won by none other than Hayden and Dan Jeffries, whose two-day weight of 29.07 pounds beat out 2nd-place Lamar Bunting’s 28.12-pound weight.

We also had a 3+ pound crappie weighed in at D’Arbonne last season, with Charlie Bunting weighing in a 3.01-lb dandy.

During the 2021, we saw Jason and Brandon Threadgill taking home the trophy and $10,000 check, weighing in 31.21 pounds over the two days. Also in 2021, the Crappie Masters National Championship was held on D’Arbonne, where TJ and Alex Palmer got the victory with 24.66 pounds.

What To Expect At D’Arbonne This Weekend

All eyes will be on the team of Hayden and Dan Jeffries, as the two are on an absolute tear this season after winning three National Championships in 2021.

This will be the first tournament attempt for Team Jeffries on the Crappie Masters National Qualifier schedule this season, but it’s worth noting that the two won the first Crappie Masters Elite tournament of the year on the Red River, along with a $25,000 check.

Hayden and Dan Jeffries have also been tearing up the crappie world on the American Crappie Trail, winning both tournaments on that trail this season (at Lake D’Arbonne and Grenada Lake) by a combined 289.10 pounds.

Looking at the weather forecast for D’Arbonne this weekend, Friday is going to be a little chilly with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50s, and on Saturday we’ll get up to 71 degrees.

If you’re not able to attend the weigh-ins this weekend in Farmerville, make sure you tune in to the Crappie Masters Facebook page for our live stream of all of the tournament action happening on Lake D’Arbonne.

The Crappie Masters tournament weigh-in will be held at Rhett’s Tails & Shells, 125 Old Hwy 15, Farmerville, LA 71241.
