RECORDS ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN!
That is a fact and these days it seems like records are broken daily on Grenada Lake in Grenada, Mississippi, where this week the Crappie Masters National Qualifier will take place on Friday and Saturday hosted by the Grenada Tourism Commission.Â
Speaking of records, 170 boats will compete on Grenada this weekend, hoping to win the $10,000 first-place prize or maybe the just-announced CarZone USA Big Fish Bonus for this tournament of $5,000! Another record for Big Fish! Plus, CarZone USA is offering a $10,000 bonus for any angler that buys a car from them and also wins a tournament this year.
Last year at this very tournament, the team of Zeke Anderson and Dillon Hackler took the world by storm with a 14-fish weight of 42.84 pounds, a weight that was thought untouchable until the calendar rolled to 2022. Reports of multiple 3-plus pound fish and a confirmed 4.03-pound fish are coming out, so the total weight and big fish records are definitely in jeopardy.Â
Another announcement due to the record size of the field: fishing hours for both days will continue to be from 7am-3pm, *note change*, you must be in the weigh-in line at Grenada Landing by 4:30pm! Anglers will be given an additional 1/2 hour to get to the weigh-in line due to ramp congestion.
With COVID protocols lifted, the seminar and registration will be Thursday, March 11 at the Lewis Johnson Center located at 299 S. MLK Blvd. in Grenada. Registration is from 5:00-6:30pm, with the rules at 6:30pm.
Crappie Masters encourages all patrons to come to Grenada Landing on Friday and Saturday afternoon to see the very best anglers in the United States catch the biggest crappie you’ve seen at the Crappie Masters Grenada Lake National Qualifier hosted by the Grenada Tourism Commission!Â

I hope this doesn’t cause haters. I love watching the old Crappie Masters. But nowadays the Crappie Masters look like a bunch of TV watchers. Watching a TV screen and picking out which Big fish they want. Need to get back to finding your own fish figuring out if the big ones are in there or if they’re just small ones. I believe a crappy Master would be a man that could go out on a lake and find those crappies without watching them on a TV screen above a brush pile just saying boys. Great for guide service great for the individual but not worth a s*** for the Masters
